Research Interest
Prof. Liu Qiang has been working on the frontline of breast cancer treatment and clinical research of breast diseases for years. Carrying out in-depth studies on breast cancer pathogenesis, Prof. Liu Qiang are expert at the early diagnosis and individualized treatment of breast cancer. His studies on the Relationship Between Tamoxifen and the Target Cells of Cyclin D1-C/EBPβ Signaling Pathway in Human Breast Carcinogenesis has won national grants from National Natural Science Foundation. Prof. Liu Qiang has also joined the Harvard/MIT Breast Cancer Collaborative Group and worked closely with world-renown experts in breast cancer research such as Robert Weinberg, who has discovered HER2 Gene, and David Livingston, who leads the research on BRCA1 and BRCA2. Prof. Liu Qiang’s research on Cyclin D1 function in tumorigenesis and differentiation has earned the support from National Institutes of Health.

Academic Achievement
Prof. Liu Qiang was recruited back to China from the U.S through the Hundred Talent Recruitment Program of Sun Yat-Sen University in 2011. He has published 18 SCI papers on Carcinogenesis, Cancer Research and Cancer Cell, and is the co-author of two English profession books on Breast Cancer Research. Prof. Liu Qiang is a frequent guest and presenter at international symposiums. He has won Full Scholarships for Surgical PHD Students at the National University of Singapore from January 2000 to January 2004. At the same year, he was granted Mrs Ivy Wu Fellowship for Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong, which he chose to give up for the full scholarship at the National University of Singapore.
